Dell PCs ... and Printers ... coming to Staples

News this morning from Round Rock that Dell (NASDAQ DELL) will be expanding its retail distribution to office supply chain Staples (NASDAQ SPLS), in both their 1,400 retail stores as well as their online store, beginning November 11.

This follows Dell's move earlier this year into Wal-Mart. (See "Wal-Mart and Dell".) Of particular interest are these inclusions on the product list to be offered: "Dell 948 and 926 all-in-one inkjet printers, [and ] Dell 1320c laser printer...Staples will offer ink and toner for most Dell printers."

I am very happy to see that Dell computers and printers will be arriving in Staples stores. I am completely against HP and have had problems with their computers almost every time I have used one. Dell PC are the most cost efficient and provide the most features any budget shopper could ask for. For the same price as an HP printer, someone could purchase an entire Dell computer and get a magnificent printer to go with it. I just hope that the price manages to stay the same instead of raising to Staple's classic "over-pricing". This economy is in the worst shape it has ever been and with 1/3 of America being unemployed this is not a good time for any company to start raising prices.
