Lyra Conference coming up -- "Supplies-Side Economics"

I was thinking of naming this post "Hot Fun in the Summertime" but I've already used that one, last August. For now suffice it to say that I'll be having a good time, blogging from Lyra's second annual one-day conference August 21st in Las Vegas, titled "Supplies-Side Economics: What Inexpensive OEM Cartridges Mean to You" at the Mandalay Bay hotel, immediately preceding the WorldExpo2007 conference that brings together much of the gigantic printer supplies industry. The latest press release says it better than I can:
"Printer OEMs are trying out a new strategy that could upend the razor-and-blades business model. The new strategy involves selling more expensive hardware and cheaper supplies, and it could have a dramatic impact on demand for aftermarket toner and ink cartridges. What will this mean for competing OEMs and aftermarket vendors who have long relied on low prices to attract buyers?."
Stay tuned right here to this blog for conference highlights, in what has been a most interesting year!
